FRF came with an announcement about the future Romanian national team. Răzvan Burleanu’s man said that it is almost certain that Mircea Lucescu will occupy this position.
Andrei Vochin, advisor to FRF president Răzvan Burleanu, said that “Il Luce” (79 years old) will be, in proportion to 99%, the future selector of the Romanian national team.
The Romanian Football Federation made the announcement: “Mircea Lucescu is 99 percent the Romanian coach”
The official of the Romanian Football Federation said that it will be a certain thing that Mircea Lucescu will take over the technical bench of the first representative team only when he signs the contract.
“Mircea Lucescu did wonders in Romanian football. It’s a miracle worker. I don’t think anyone can contradict me when I say that he qualified Romania for EURO ’84 from the toughest group in the history of Romanian football.
1% remains before signing the contract. We expect a final answer next week. There were no negotiations either. Only one thing was discussed: do you or don’t you think you can take this team forward? And there are very few people who believe”, said Andrei Vochin, according to the publication Fans.
Thus, Mircea Lucescu would sign an agreement that will be valid for two years, until 2026, when the World Championship will take place, which will be organized in the USA, Mexico and Canada.
What salary will Mircea Lucescu earn with the Romanian national team
According to the previously cited source, the technician will receive a remuneration of 27,000 euros per month, equivalent to 324,000 euros per year, but also a World Cup qualification bonus of 200,000 euros.
In fact, the same salary would have been proposed to Edi Iordănescu if the former Romanian coach had chosen to extend his contract.
By comparison, Mircea Lucescu’s salary at Dinamo Kiev, the last team he coached, was 1.2 million euros per year, while at the Turkish national team he was paid 2.5 million euros per year.
At Zenit, in Russia, Mircea Lucescu earned no less than 5 million euros per season, and at Shakhtior, the team he coached for 12 years, he had an average salary of 4 million euros per year.
Mircea Lucescu would take over the national team of Romania early next month when the 2024/2025 edition of the Nations League kicks off.
The first games that the “tricolors” will play will be on September 6 and 9, when the Romanian national team meets the teams from Kosovo and Lithuania, respectively.
On October 12, the match between the Romanian national team and the representative team from Cyprus will take place, and on October 15, the one with the Lithuanian national team.
