Mitsubishi Fuso eCanter Launched at GIIAS 2024, Sold New in Jabodetabek

DAPURPACUID – After being introduced several years ago, PT Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian Motors (KTB) has finally officially launched the Fuso eCanter electric truck in the Indonesian automotive market.

The launch ceremony was held at the Mitsubishi Fuso booth at the 2024 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), in Hall 2 ICE BSD City, Tangerang.

Indonesia becomes the seventh country market for eCanter, since the zero-emission truck was introduced in 2017. KTB continues to conduct socialization to receive various inputs from customers.

KTB is working with MFTBC to diversify transportation options available in the market in line with the Indonesian government’s commitment to achieve net zero emissions by 2060.

President and CEO of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation, Karl Deppen said, this electric truck is a sophisticated technology product designed according to consumer needs and focuses on quality, comfort, durability and safety.

Present in person at the launch, Karl explained that the Fuso eCanter offers various conveniences of use with the ability to charge overnight.

So, he said, consumers can start each day with full power, without wasting time at the gas station. And every time the truck slows down, simply recharge the battery with regenerative braking power.

“eCanter also offers low operating costs and minimal maintenance,” said Karl in his speech at the GIIAS arena at ICE BSD, Tangerang, Wednesday (17/7).

Before being officially launched in Indonesia, Mitsubishi Fuso has conducted trials with 10 consumers, to ensure the eCanter’s capabilities in business operations.

After being tested for more than 25,000 km, this truck can operate well without any problems and gets positive responses from consumers, including driving comfort and strong acceleration.

The Fuso eCanter marketed in Indonesia is equipped with an M-sized battery with a capacity of 83kWh which is capable of traveling a distance of 140 km, with a GVW of up to 6 tons.

Armed with a wheelbase length of 3.4 meters plus capable peak torque, capable of carrying loads with maximum volume. The chassis is designed flat, making it easier for consumers in the bodywork manufacturing process.

eCanter is equipped with various embedded technologies, including eAxle, which combines the functions of axle, gear, motor and inverter which makes maintenance easier and more efficient.

Aji Jaya, Sales and Marketing Director of KTB said that eCanter offers comfort for drivers and advanced safety features, like modern trucks.

“This product is equipped with very sophisticated safety features such as the Electronic Stability Program to stabilize the vehicle when braking in dangerous situations,” said Aji.

There is an Acoustic Vehicle Alert System feature, to warn people around that a vehicle is approaching. Then the Land Departure Warning System (LDWS) and a cabin rearview mirror integrated with a rear camera.

Although it has been officially launched, sales of the new Fuso eCanter will be focused on the Jabodetabek area at three official Mitsubishi Fuso dealers.

The three dealers include PT Dipo Internasional Pahala Otomotif, PT Srikandi Diamond Motor, and PT Sun Star Motor.

Purchase of eCanter is given a complete and long warranty of up to 6 years or 180,000 km (whichever comes first) and free service for 5 years. (dpid/DF)
