It is clear that users are interested in these devices. Not everyone wants to charge every day, or twice a day. We have therefore looked at the best smartphones that offer above-standard durability. We have divided smartphones into several interesting categories.
The best of flagships
Today, it is already true that every good flagship will offer reliable durability. No, two days is still not the standard, but that is not expected from the most equipped models. They are bought by users who are demanding and use their smartphone most of the day. During intensive use, of course, the battery charge level decreases faster, because the display is on for a longer time. Among the flagships, we have selected the ones that definitely deserve to be in this article, because their durability is really very good.
Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max
We traditionally start with the iPhone. Apple has significantly worked on battery life and optimization in the iPhone 11 series, and since then, especially the models with the Pro Max designation are among the best in terms of endurance. The iPhone 15 Pro Max is no exception, despite the fact that it has the smallest battery of all the models listed. Specifically, with a capacity of 4441 mAh.
The device mainly relies on an economical chipset, a 120 Hz LTPO display and a system that has been optimized as much as possible to be as gentle as possible on the battery. And that’s why the iPhone 15 Pro Max definitely deserves to be in this selection, because its endurance is really excellent.
The latest iPhones have finally switched to the standard USB-C connector, which is used for data transfer and charging. So the user no longer needs to take multiple cables with him on the road, just one USB-C. As for the charging speed, the manufacturer states that the device can be charged to exactly 50 percent in half an hour. These figures have long been surpassed by the competition.
Wireless charging is also available, and if you use the original MagSafe charger, you can get a power of up to 15 W from it. Reverse wireless charging of the iPhone is traditionally missing.
One of the novelties for 2024. With this model, Asus completely buried the compact Zenfone flagship series, which was extremely successful and popular. Zenfone 11 Ultra has a large battery with a capacity of 5500 mAh and offers really excellent endurance. Among the flagships, it also belongs to the absolute top.
The predecessors also offered great endurance, despite the fact that their batteries had a significantly lower capacity. Since they were compact models, the main reason for the good endurance was the smaller display.
The Zenfone 11 Ultra also boasts fast charging. The power of the cable is 65 W, and the battery reaches 100 percent in the stated 39 minutes. That’s really not a bad value. In the equipment, we also find wireless charging, but reversely, it is only possible to charge via a cable, not wirelessly.
After being separated from its parent company Huawei, Honor is starting to do well again. Sales are increasing and the brand is making better and better smartphones. The current flagship is a great proof of that. It offers not only one of the best cameras on the market, but also excellent durability. This is mainly due to the large battery with a capacity of up to 5600 mAh.
The charging options are also very good. The wired one has a power of 80 W, but 66 W wireless charging is also available. For this, of course, you need to get an original Honor wireless charger with this performance, it won’t work this quickly on another one. Unlike the two competitors above, the Honor Magic6 Pro also offers reverse wireless charging.
Sony Xperia 5 V
Representative of more compact models. It offers a display with a diagonal of 6.1 inches and an aspect ratio of 21:9, so its area is smaller. This was also reflected in the overall dimensions of the smartphone and especially in its excellent durability. It is pleasing that the manufacturer was able to squeeze a battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh into such a small body, so within. capacity does not compare to the usual standard of large flagships.
Considering the smaller display, the battery life is excellent and is among the best on the market. Long endurance is supported by charging with a power of 30 W, which is not much. According to the manufacturer, you can reach 50 percent of the capacity in exactly half an hour of charging. The presence of both wireless charging and reverse wireless charging will please.
Special category: Nubia Redmagic 9 Pro
Gaming smartphones have also featured interesting battery specifications in the past. The Nubia Redmagic 9 Pro is the latest proof of this, and compared to its biggest competitor (Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro), it offers a significantly larger battery. Its capacity is an incredible 6500 mAh.
If we compare the durability with the models described above, Nubia will emerge as the winner in this battle. However, we did not include the smartphone in the category of flagships, even though it definitely belongs to it in terms of price and performance. Gaming smartphones have always been a kind of separate category, practically with one drawback compared to full-fledged flagships – a weaker camera. In this case, it does not end with a large battery. The device also offers fast charging, with a maximum power of 80 W. What freezes is the absence of wireless charging.
A middle class that pays off
Even in the middle class, we can find many smartphones with very good battery life. Some models even offer extremely large batteries with high capacity, but in our selection we focused on more common smartphones. If we also take into account the fact that the device has to look a certain way and we want to keep its weight still within reasonable values, we have included two interesting models in this selection.
Motorola moto g54 Power came to the market with a battery whose capacity is equal to 6000 mAh. This is well above the average in every price category. In combination with an almost clean Android operating system and good optimization from the manufacturer, this smartphone can comfortably last a moderately demanding user for two full days without a charger. The relatively economical MediaTek Dimensity 7020 chipset, which is manufactured using 6 nm production technology, also plays its role in this.
But we don’t have such beautiful numbers in terms of charging as in the case of some flagships. However, 33 W cable charging is not to be thrown away at all. According to the manufacturer, the battery should be charged to 50 percent capacity in approximately 33 minutes. Of course, wireless charging is missing.
A very interesting mid-range device. Although the competition may offer larger batteries, in this case it somehow worked. 5000 mAh capacity is a very good number, however. In combination with excellent optimization, this smartphone can last a very long time on one charge. It is also pleasing that the Samsung Galaxy A55 will receive a very long software support, so that it will have the current system even in a few years.
25 W charging is not great on paper, but Samsung has solved it very well and the curve is perfectly fine-tuned. This means that, despite the lower maximum power, the supplement will be charged in about an hour. No, it is not a record, but this number is not one of the worst either.
A little exotic: Oukitel WP30 Pro
Let’s take a look at the brand, which is sold in our country, but most Slovaks probably haven’t heard of it yet. If you missed a smartphone with a really gigantic battery in this selection, you’re welcome. This is the Oukitel WP30 Pro, which has an incredible 11,000 mAh battery. That’s practically twice as much as most models in this selection.
In the case of this smartphone, we can really talk about endurance, which is calculated in days and not hours. So if you are going somewhere for the weekend, for example to nature, you can leave your power bank at home. If you take a closer look at the robustness of the device, you will definitely understand that there is no wireless charging here.
However, the wired one has a power of up to 120 W. No wonder, such a large battery requires more power so that charging does not take long hours. The manufacturer states that the device will be charged to 50 percent in approximately 15 minutes, and it takes 50 minutes to fully charge. And those are really great numbers for this battery capacity.
