Mobvoi Ticwatch Pro 5 Enduro Review: Our Full Opinion –

Mobvoi continues its momentum to shake up the Wear OS smartwatch market, previously monopolized by Samsung and Google. Very similar to the TicWatch Pro 5, the Enduro version stands out with a redesigned design. Equipped with a powerful processor, but above all with a dual LCD and Amoled screen, Mobvoi promises remarkable battery life considering the power and technical characteristics of its watch.

NB: In this test, we have chosen to focus on the design of the TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro. Also, we invite you to click on the links in the different paragraphs that will take you to our TicWatch Pro 5 review; a model whose other characteristics are identical.

Mobvoi Ticwatch Pro 5 Enduro Sporty, modern and durable

The TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro has many features in common with the Pro 5 model from the same manufacturer that we had already tested previously. However, design elements differ between these two versions. Starting with the dial glass: in the Enduro version, it is a glass of the type “sapphire“. Historically used on high-end watches – in classic watchmaking as well as more recently on smartwatches – this glass offers very good scratch resistance. It provides a notable gain in solidity, compared to the TicWatch Pro 5 which is equipped with Gorilla glass.

On the case side, TicWatch gives it beautiful finishes. Far from a plastic look, it is made of an alloy of stainless steel, aluminum and high-strength nylon (a polyamide-type material, since it is loaded with fiberglass). If we found it rather thick on the TicWatch Pro 5 with its 12.2 mm, the manufacturer revises its copy and manages to reduce the thickness by 0.3 mm. The Enduro model now displays 11.9 mm, a figure that is in the average for smartwatches for sports.

Paradoxically, the watch becomes heavier with this new version; although the difference is not palpable in practice when wearing this Pro 5 Enduro since this weight gain is only 0.4 g. For theoretical data, we note a case that goes from 44.3 g for the Pro 5 version to 44.7 g for the Enduro model.

Still in a round format, the screen bezel is now covered with grooves, unlike the smooth appearance present on the TicWatch Pro 5. Although this new design may call for it, this bezel is still immobile and the change does not bring any new functionality. In the same vein, the original bracelet is now also grooved and matches the bezel.

Designed in fluorosilicone, the strap appears comfortable to wear for long periods; its large number of holes allows it to adapt to all wrists. It very logically retains the same dimension as on the Pro 5 model with a width of 24 mm. Note on this subject that the attachment system to the horns with a quick release pump gives it great interchangeability. You can thus easily modify the watch strap with any standard model.

While both TicWatch models feature a digital crown and a physical button located on the outer side edge, the crown is slightly larger on the Enduro version. This feature, visible to the naked eye, offers better ergonomics in use, since it can be handled more easily. Waterproof to 5 ATM, this watch will be suitable for swimming, but will not be usable for scuba diving.

Mobvoi Ticwatch Pro 5 Enduro Screen: Two screens, but only one smartwatch

Mobvoi is not changing its winning team and is incorporating the same dual-screen system into the TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro for a significant gain in battery life. An ultra-energy-saving overlay is added to the AMOLED display of this model. This secondary display is made up of monochrome liquid crystals; this technology gives the watch a very economical display, but also very sensitive to reflections and difficult to read in direct sunlight.

As for the main screen, it consists of a 1.43-inch AMOLED panel of 466 x 466 pixels for a density of 356 pixels per inch. Unlike the secondary screen, the main display benefits from a good level of brightness and is perfectly readable in direct sunlight.

The TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro comes with 13 virtual watch faces already installed, and the companion Mobvoi Health app offers 41 more. Since this smartwatch is powered by Google’s Wear OS, more can be downloaded as third-party apps from the Google Play Store.

Since the TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro’s display technology is identical to that used by the Pro 5 model, we invite you to consult the latter’s test for a more detailed analysis of the subject. Read our TicWatch Pro 5 test.

Mobvoi Ticwatch Pro 5 Enduro Usage and application: complete, but sometimes complex

The TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro benefits from the same technical characteristics relating to performance as the Pro model. As a result, it has the same processor system that gives it power and autonomy. While the software features are numerous, the only thing left is the user interface of the Mobvoi Health application is unclear. Some haphazard translations do not help in understanding the software logic.

WearOS – Play Store display

In addition to this flaw, the TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro has the advantage of working with Wear OS. This feature allows access to the Google Play Store – pre-installed on the watch – which therefore allows the installation of various compatible applications. Examples include Google Messages, WhatsApp, ToDoIst, YouTube Music, etc. Contactless payment via Google Wallet is also possible. Once again, since the TicWatch Pro 5 and its Enduro version share the same features, we invite you to take a look at our previous test to learn more about the interface and the available features.

Mobvoi Ticwatch Pro 5 Enduro Health: reliability and efficiency

The TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro offers all the sensors needed to monitor the user’s health. It includes a compass, a barometer, an accelerometer, a gyroscope and a heart rate monitor that also acts as an oximeter. As the cherry on the cake, Mobvoi has chosen to add a skin temperature sensor to its watch.

GPS Accuracy Test

Since the TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro has the same sensors as its cousin, the Pro 5, we’re directing you to the Pro 5 smartwatch review for a full GPS accuracy test analysis. Our Mobvoi TicWatch Pro 5 review.

We also note the watch’s compatibility with GPS, BeiDou, Glonass, Galileo and QZSS protocols; this ensures good positioning anywhere on the planet.

Heart Rate Sensor Accuracy Test

As for the GPS accuracy, we invite you to consult the analysis written during the test of the TicWatch Pro 5, the sensor being strictly identical to that of the Enduro version. See our test of the TicWatch Pro 5 connected watch.

The heart rate sensor appears very reliable and responsive to heart rate variations. The margin of error is intended to be low, although the watch tends to slightly underestimate its measurements compared to reality.

Health and training functions

Launching a workout from the watch is done through the TicExercice application. Note that since other applications are available through the Google Play Store, it will be possible to bypass TicExercice in favor of Strava or Komoot for example.

TicExercice offers tracking for several sports such as cycling, running, outdoor walking, etc. On the other hand, while the Mobvoi application allows you to select a duration or distance goal, it is limited to simple exercises. It will be necessary to use a third-party application if you want variations in intensity (fractional) during training.

Mobvoi Ticwatch Pro 5 Enduro Battery life: very good battery life for a WearOS watch

For this TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro, having a second ultra-low power display provides very good overall battery life… for a watch running Wear OS. Equipped with a 628 mAh battery, this capacity is well ahead of that of the Google Pixel Watch and its 294 mAh.

In fact, here are the measurements taken during our test:

  • Continuous heart rate measurement (every second), maximum brightness, always-on AMOLED display: 21 hours of battery life.
  • Continuous heart rate measurement (every second), automatic brightness, sports activity tracking with GPS for 1 hour, always-on screen in ultra energy saving: 72 hours of battery life.

It goes without saying that the dual-screen system allows for great energy savings and significantly increases the watch’s battery life when activated. Charging is done using a USB-A cable to a magnetic connector proprietary to Mobvoi.

Mobvoi Ticwatch Pro 5 Enduro Calling and communication: Bluetooth is a must

This smartwatch is compatible with Bluetooth 5.2 and has a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi chip, which is very useful for downloading mobile applications using the home network directly. On the other hand, we note the absence of possible connectivity in 4G or 5G since no SIM / eSIM integration is thought for the TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro.

The Mobvoi watch has a built-in microphone, allowing calls to be made on the wrist, provided that the smartphone is nearby, since it is necessary for the two devices to be connected via Bluetooth for this use.

While the microphone built into the TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro is of good quality and the software correctly filters ambient noise, we regret a speaker volume that is a little too low. This last point can bother the user in the event that a call takes place in a place where complete calm does not reign.

Mobvoi Ticwatch Pro 5 Enduro Price and availability

The Mobvoi TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro is already available in France from 359.99 euros in two colors: Obsidian and Slate.
