Mogwai plans to release a new studio album “The Bad Fire” in January

Scottish post-rock quartet Mogwai announced the release of a new studio album „The Bad Fire“ via Rock Action on January 24th (and via Temporary Residence Ltd. for North and South America). This is their first new album since topping the UK Albums Chart with a 2021 release, „Love Conquers All“. They also released a music video for a new single „Lion Rumpus,“ which follows Glasgow native Lawrence (Larry) Wilson who, after moving to New York, becomes a dog walker and leads viewers through the streets of downtown Manhattan.

The band stated: “After the success of the album „As The Love Continues,“ last years were difficult for us personally. We have faced many losses and, in Barry’s case, serious illness in the family. Returning to the studio to write and record was our refuge. With John Congleton we believe we have created something special.”

Mogwai recorded „The Bad Fire“ in Lanarkshire with Grammy Award winning producer Congleton. The album also includes the previous single, six minutes long „God Gets You Back.“ The album is already available for pre-order in various formats, including vinyl set, CD set, black LP, clear vinyl LP, CD and cassette.

List of songs on the album „The Bad Fire“ includes:

  1. God Gets You Back
  2. Hi Chaos
  3. What Kind of Mix is This?
  4. Fanzine Made Of Flesh
  5. Pale Vegan Hip Pain
  6. If You Find This World Bad, You Should See Some Of The Others
