Like every year, the days around Ferragosto are those of Monterey Car Week. The event, scheduled in California from August 9 to 18, brings together the most luxurious cars on the planet to animate its numerous events such as the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance; exclusive gatherings, such as The QuailA Motorsports Gathering; vintage racing at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion; and high-profile car auctions, such as RM Sotheby’s.

This is why these days the town of Monterey, near the Pebble Beach golf course, hosts some of the richest people in the world (and their incredible cars), while the manufacturers increasingly take advantage of an event like this to present exceptional news. It’s no surprise, then, that Lamborghini will unveil the successor to the Huracan. And it won’t be alone.

BMW will use Monterey week to advance the U.S. launch of the M5. Ahead of its commercial debut, the German manufacturer has prepared a one-off, the M5 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance #1/1, which will be auctioned on August 18. The Californian event will also be the stage for the world debut of the new BMW M5 Touring.

In addition to cars from more established manufacturers, Monterey will also feature special models such as the Diablo Eccentrica, a restomod that takes some elements from the various editions of the Diablo produced between 1990 and 2001, developed by the startup Eccentrica Cars.

This year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance will be held on August 18th. The complete list of cars competing is very long, we are talking about over 150 models. Worth mentioning, in the “Wedge-Shaped Concept and Prototypes Class” category, Honda HP-X, the first modern concept car from the Japanese manufacturer, designed by Pininfarina and first presented at the 1984 Turin Motor Show.
