Diana Morant said this morning in an interview with À Punt News that she “envies” the agreement reached for unique financing in Catalonia and even hinted that she would like the Valencian Community to be able to collect all taxes. She did this in response to a question from journalist Laura Ballestar in which she asked her “if she wants a unique agreement for the Valencian Community like the one in Catalonia that allows all taxes to be managed”.

The minister and leader of the PSPV has stated that “I want an agreement that recognises the uniqueness of the Valencian Community. I don’t know if it is the same way for us to collect taxes, I don’t know how the general model will end, but what the agreement between the PSC and ERC makes me feel is envy. I envy the Valencians for that capacity, and the agreement says that it is to invest more in Health, Education and Social Services.”

The minister has blamed the PP for having broken the consensus in the Valencian Community to demand fair financing from the Government and has assured that Carlos Mazón cannot ask for fair financing if “at the same time he is lowering taxes for the rich”.
