More cars delivered give Tesla higher revenue in the third quarter

The electric car manufacturer Tesla’s revenue increased in the third quarter by eight percent compared to the same period in the previous year.

In the third quarter, the company had sales of 25.2 billion dollars. This corresponds to 174 billion Danish kroner.

According to the company, the reason is, among other things, an increase in the number of cars delivered.

The revenue from vehicles alone makes up around 80 percent of the total revenue.

In the third quarter of this year, Tesla delivered just under 463,000 cars compared to 435,000 last year, the company announced at the beginning of October.

On October 22, Tesla had produced exactly seven million cars, the company writes in the accounts.

Operating profit increased by 54 percent compared to the same period last year.

Profit from operations in the third quarter of 2024 was $2.7 billion. This corresponds to almost DKK 19 billion.

According to Tesla, the reason for the higher operating result this year is due to the increased quantity of cars delivered and lower costs per car produced, because the raw materials have been cheaper.

At the same time, Tesla has introduced measures that have reduced the costs of the operation, according to the accounts.

The report comes two weeks after Tesla’s founder, Elon Musk, presented Tesla’s bid for a driverless taxi. According to Musk, production is expected to take off in 2026.

It also happens two weeks before the US presidential election. Musk has publicly indicated his support for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

He also supports Trump financially. According to CNBC, he has supported the former president’s campaign with millions of US dollars.
