More personalized AI for Galaxy phones via acquisition of Oxford Semantic Technologies

Samsung earlier this year introduced artificial intelligence tools through platform highlighting Galaxy AI. All of the above are aimed at enhancing the user experience with features such as real-time translation, image creation and enhanced photo editing. As artificial intelligence becomes a key element in mobile devices, Samsung is focused on continuously improving these tools, offering users an even better experience.

Even more personalized AI for Galaxy phones

In order to have even more supplies, Samsung announces that it has entered into an acquisition agreement with the Oxford Semantic Technologies, of a British startup known for its expertise in information storage technology.

This technology stores information in an interconnected web of related ideas, mirroring human logic. This technology can improve personalization in artificial intelligence applications, such as on-device AI in Samsung phones.

A first contact that Samsung had with Oxford Semantic Technologies dates back to 2018, but with this new acquisition the South Korean company will secure advanced core engines for personal knowledge graphs. These graphs integrate information and context from various services and applications, enhancing user experiences by adapting to user preferences and habits over time.

When combined with in-device AI technology, such as that found in Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series, personal knowledge graph technology enables highly personalized user experiences while protecting sensitive personal data securely on the device. This feature will be extended to all Samsung product lines and will not be limited to mobile devices only.
