Last year, Izivia, a subsidiary of the EDF group, and McDonald’s France announced the creation of a national network of ultra-fast charging stations for electric carsaccessible in the parking lots of famous fast-food restaurants in France.

The network has already started its deployment, and already more than 220 charging stations have been put into service to date, with the aim of equipping more than 700 McDonald’s France restaurant car parks by 2025. These new openings will help develop the network of ultra-fast charging stations available nationally. These 2,000 charging points will in fact represent a 25% increase in the existing fleet of ultra-fast charging stations open to the public.

Izivia Fast: an attractive price

The French company wants to make Izivia Fast the ultra-fast charging network preferred by the French, with a dense network, optimal quality of service and attractive priceswith a price from €0.30 to €0.35 per kWh depending on the time of day. In addition, access to the terminals will be simplified for all users. In fact, it will be possible to identify yourself and pay by bank card, with the Izivia Pass, the badge of another charging operator, the Izivia application or even a QR code.
Izivia Fast is a company co-owned by Izivia and the Siloé Infrastructures fund, managed by Crédit Mutuel Impact. It is specifically dedicated to the financing, deployment and operation of the network of Izivia Fast electrical terminals within McDonald’s France restaurants.
This year, the number of charging stations for electric cars should cross the bar million points in Francewith 83.6% of AC charging points, while DC charging points of less than 100 kW represent 6.7% of the fleet. Finally, ultra-fast terminals with more than 100 kW of power represent 9.6% of the fleet.

According to RTE France, the rolling stock of electrified cars should be multiplied by 15 by 2035, to reach 18 million vehicles.
