Although the media has been full of bad news for the electric car industry this year, it seems that not everything is as black as it seems at the moment. A new survey shows that most people want electric cars.
A new survey by consulting firm Accenture reveals that customer preferences are shifting towards electric vehicles more than it may appear at first glance. In this research, 6,000 car drivers from the United States, Germany, Italy, France, China and Japan were surveyed.
As he reports Jutarnji.hr, the survey showed that 57 percent of drivers expect to own an electric vehicle in the next 10 years, and only 10 percent of buyers claim that they would never buy an electric vehicle. In China, the mood towards electric cars is the most positive and as many as 65 percent of the drivers surveyed believe that the future belongs to electric cars.
In the US, 54 percent of drivers surveyed said they expected to own an electric vehicle in the next 10 years, and only 11 percent said they would never buy a battery-powered car.
German and French respondents are more skeptical about the electric future, with 37 percent and 36 percent of drivers, respectively, thinking they will buy an electric car within the next 10 years.
In the survey, the majority of respondents pointed out that their priorities related to electric vehicles are reliability (83%), safety (82%) and value for money (82%). Also, 70 percent of those surveyed highlight charging as an important item, and 81 percent consider battery size and range as an important factor when purchasing an electric vehicle.
All these results are a good picture of the current state of the market. During this year, Germany recorded a big drop in sales of electric vehicles, while sales in China continue to grow steadily. Sales of electric vehicles are also growing in Europe, but at a much slower pace than before. In the US, the situation for electric cars is somewhat better.
