More than seven million euros invested in the ring road around Zlatibor

The construction of the ring road around Zlatibor is a project in which the state invested over seven million euros. The Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Goran Vesić, visited the works and emphasized the importance of this project, emphasizing that the ring road will reduce pollution and improve traffic flow, which will be useful for all visitors to Zlatibor, as well as those who are just passing through.

So far, it is within the first three phases built almost 2.6 kilometers of ring road, and the completion of the third phase is planned for September this year, although the original deadline was December. Vesić noted that another 3km and then another 4km are planned for next year in order to connect the ring road with the future Požega-Kotroman highway, which will complete its function, it was announced on the Ministry’s website.

In addition, Vesić highlighted plans for cooperation with the municipality of Čajetina na to the construction of the gondola, along with the creation of a special purpose plan for this project. Also, the minister mentioned reconstruction of the Valjevo-Vrbnica railway, which passes here and is part of the Belgrade-Bar railway. It will be designed for speeds of 80 to 120 kilometers per hour, which will better connect this region with the rest of the country.

The president of the municipality of Čajetina, Milan Stamatović, emphasized the importance of building national roads for smaller communities, stating that the ring road will significantly relieve traffic on Zlatibor and attract new investors, which will improve the living standards of the local population.
