The 2024 MotoGP San Marino Grand Prix has seen Marc Marquez triumph, marking his return to the top with his second consecutive victory after 1,043 days without winning. Changeable weather conditions marked this closely contested race on the Misano Adriatico circuit. As rain threatened, Marquez outplayed his rivals by staying on pneus slicks. Unlike Jorge Martin, the only rider at the front who made the mistake of switching to a bike equipped with rain tires. This strategic choice cost Martin dearlywhich ends in 15th place after returning to the pits to change bikes again.
Francesco Bagnaia, despite injuries suffered in the previous Grand Prix, finished second, followed by his teammate Enea Bastianini, completing a All-Ducati podium. Bagnaia takes advantage of this to get closer to just sept points Martin’s in the title race.
This weekend, MotoGP returns to Italy for the Grand Prix of Emilia-Romagnawith the battle for victory expected to be very close.
