MSI MEG Z890 ACE Review: Clocking the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K – Chapter 1

Intel’s new platform also requires a motherboard test. We will be the first to look at one of the highest models from MSI. At the MSI MEG Z890 ACE, we will also introduce the new chipset and Arrow Lak timing.

Intel’s new platform in the field of processors also means a flood of new motherboards. We will show a few of them in separate reviews, of course they will be the best or most interesting models, now it’s your turn MSI MEG Z890 ACE. Nobody cares that much about testing cheap boards on thirty pages.

Even so, the boards do not bring anything essential, we must say that at the outset. The only highlight is the completely modern equipment with external chips, which will surely please every owner. Another important chapter is the timing of Arrow Lak and DDR5 memory. Here, everything is very different from what we knew at Intel. A chiplet processor requires each chiplet to be controlled separately. Also, CUDIMM technology for DDR5 is a brand new thing. So let’s get to the menu motherboards with the Z890 chipset from MSI.

The MEG Z890 ACE model is the third highest Z890 model from MSI. The price of almost 18,000 CZK also corresponds to this. It is an expensive board, but certainly not the most expensive. But at this time it is the top model in stores, higher models will probably arrive later. I haven’t seen them in Czech distribution yet.

Before we focus on the news in the Z890 chipset in the next chapter, let’s take a quick look at a few essential models of the Z890 series from MSI. Ten models in different categories and series are coming to the market.

The highest model is the MEG Z890 GODLIKE with a price of around 30,000 CZKfollowed by the board for the MEG Z890 UNIFY-X and MEG Z890 ACE clocks (from our test). The cheaper MPG series offers the Z890 EDGE TI WIFI and Z890 CARBON WIFI models. Prices there are already around 13,000 CZK. Following are several models in the PRO, MAG and GAMING series. The cheapest board is MSI PRO Z890-P WIFI for 6200 CZK.
