MSI presents the 49″ gaming monitor 491CQPX with a resolution of 5120×1440 pixels and 240 Hz

In the middle of August this year MSI announced a new gaming monitor MPG 491CQPXwhich is now finally launching. It is a giant with a 49″ diagonal and a resolution of 5120×1440 pixels. It is basically two classic monitors with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels next to each other, resulting in an aspect ratio of 32:9. It is a QD-OLED monitor characterized by with a curvature of 1800 R. It achieves an overall brightness of 250 nits, however, it can handle 10% of the area 450 nits (meets DisplayHDR True Black 400) and even 1000 nits in a 3% area.The typical contrast is 1.5M:1.

Compared to previous models, it has one more innovation, a refresh rate of up to 240 Hz (available for all three interfaces). Thanks to Adaptive-Sync, this is available in the range of 48 to 240 Hz. The monitor has a response time of 0.03ms GTG, covers 98% of the Adobe RGB space, 99% of DCI-P3 and 146% of sRGB. It is a 10-bit monitor, so it supports the processing of 1.07 billion. colors. We also have the ClearMR 13000 certification. OLED Care 2.0 then ensures a high lifespan of the OLED panel (e.g. detects logos, taskbars and the like that reduce brightness). The monitor is calibrated with Delta E<2. Here players have functions like Smart Crosshair, Optix Scope or AI Vision.

We find one HDMI 2.1 port, one DisplayPort 1.4aa and one USB-C with 98W PD and DP-Alt. There are also two USB-A 2.0 ports and one USB-B 2.0, gamers can also appreciate the 3.5mm audio jack for headphones. The monitor can be positioned in the form of a tilt change from -5° to +20°, to the sides +/-30°, and in height within a range of 100mm, and there is also the option of mounting it on the wall (VESA 100×100mm). Today, support for PIP/PBP and KVM Switch is almost a matter of course.
