Murat Yusufthe mufti of the Muslim cult in Romania, spoke about the life of Muslims in our country, on Saturday, at B1 TVurging vigilance regarding new migrants.
Asked about the problems of the Muslim community in Romania, Murat Iusuf said, quoted by the television website: “I believe that at the present time we do not have very big, very serious problems to be solved (…). We, the traditional Turkish-Tatar community, are very well integrated, we live in brotherhood with the majority population”.
“There would be a small problem regarding the new Muslims who come to Romania, the flow of migrants who come to Romania in recent years, who come as a workforce, we, our institution, together with other institutions capable in this field, should let’s work together, first of all let’s be vigilant, let’s prevent any form of their radicalization”, the mufti added.
“Because, indeed, the employer brings them to Romania, offers them the conditions, according to the contract he signs with them, but we also have to think about the spiritual side of these migrants, where they carry out their religious activities. We don’t know what background they come from, we don’t know if they have come into contact in their countries with other extremist organizations, because some of them come from Muslim-majority countries,” he continued.
“Radicalization can also be done in the online environment very easily (…). We have to be very careful with them, we have to be in a constant dialogue, not just to bring them to work and not to think about the spiritual part, and the spiritual life of these workers, of these migrants, especially since is a class prone to radicalization. We made many addresses to certain local authorities, we addressed ourselves officially, we asked for support”, Murat Iusuf also declared.
