Multi-color 3D printing under $500? Creality introduced Hi Combo with support for up to 16 colors at once

Where is the next step in commercial 3D printing? This question was asked by one of the largest manufacturers of 3D printers, Creality, which presented the new Hi Combo model at this year’s CES 2025. This novelty can print up to 16 colors at once, offers fully automatic calibration, a robust metal body, and most importantly an attractive price tag under 500 dollars.

A cheaper Bambu Lab A1 with a number of desirable improvements

This is what the new Creality Hi Combo could be called, the form of which visitors can see for the first time at this year’s CES 2025, and it must be noted that at first glance it is a really cool piece. The printer will offer an all-metal body, an extruder with direct drive and metal gears, a 3.2″ touch screen, Wi-Fi connectivity for wireless printing, fully automatic calibration of the first layer and extruder, a print speed of up to 500 mm/s.

If the Hi Combo reminds you a lot of the popular Bambu Lab A1, you’re not alone. The printer has mostly the same layout, and even the “deburring” tool is almost identical and in the same place. Nevertheless, the Hi Combi offers several interesting improvements. The first is a larger printing area of 260 × 260 × 300 mm (Bambu Lab A1 offers an area of 256 × 256 × 256 mm), and most importantly support for up to 16-color printing, which is quite a significant difference compared to 4 colors in the case of Bambu Lab A1.

Bedslinger at a good price

Creality CFS is nothing new and until now was sold as an accessory to the CoreXY Creality K2 Plus. However, now the CFS unit will be available directly in the package together with the printer as interesting price of 469 dollars. The printer will also be available without a CFS unit for $299.

If printing 4 colors at once is not enough for you, it will be possible to buy additional units and connect up to 4 units to the printer at once, as is now possible for example with the Bambu Lab P1P/P1S/X1C with their AMS solution. Creality has long maintained a reputation as a manufacturer with low and competitive prices. So it will be interesting to see if the Hi Combo can gain ground in the market and bring multi-color 3D printing more into the world of regular “home” printers.
