MYSC concludes ‘2024 EMA-AGRIFOOD agri-food accelerator program

The demo day of the ‘2024 Agricultural and Food Technology Startup Accelerator Support’ project hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, organized by the Korea Agricultural Technology Promotion Agency, and operated by MY Social Company (hereinafter MYSC) was concluded at KT&G Sangsang Planet on October 23. The day was revealed.

This event was an opportunity to highlight innovative agri-food startups, focusing on the keywords ‘impact’, which solves social and environmental problems related to agri-food, and ‘global’, which has the potential to enter the global market.

A total of 11 companies that participated in the event were ▲Gyul Medal (Jeju citrus product and content production), ▲Ready Robust Machine (energy recovery solution to improve fuel efficiency of agricultural machinery tractors), ▲Mr. Dad (local win-win online and offline food material distribution), and ▲Mush. Anne (research and development of materials based on mushroom mycelium), ▲By Root (frog rice protein product production and extraction solution) ▲Belle Abel Farm (development of pet healthcare products using Jeju bamboo), ▲Agmo (autonomous driving attached to agricultural machinery) kit development), ▲Ag Uni (development of customized crop production multi-stage cultivation solution and air dome house), ▲ST Retail (manufacturing and distribution of agricultural products using stevia vacuum soaking technology), ▲Pytoresearch (seedlings using plant tissue culture technology) production), and ▲Future Connect (establishment of an urban farm network and fresh crop supply service). Each company introduced the problems and business models they are solving in the agricultural and food industry through Demo Day IR pitching.

The meeting with VC, one of the highlights of the program, was an opportunity to directly explain their vision to participating companies and promote practical partnerships. VCs examined the company’s direction and growth potential through various questions with startups, and discussed the possibility of investment and cooperation with various companies.

MYSC researcher Kim Shin-young, who was in charge of this event, said, “We have been operating an agri-food accelerating program for the past three years and have confirmed the potential of agri-food startups in solving social and environmental problems around the world.” He added, “We will continue to focus on impact and global keywords in the future.” “We will continue to grow together with agricultural and food startups,” he said.
