Naju City Bitgaram City Library presents a special reading culture program for the winter vacation.

Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Byung-tae Yoon) announced on the 7th that it will run four courses in the ‘2025 Winter Vacation Program’ from the 8th to the 11th of next month.

This program consists of four courses that combine reading and experiential activities such as baking, ecological play, learning four idioms, and reading discussions for first to fourth graders of elementary school.

First, ‘Welcome, Is This Your First Time Trying Italian Bread?’, which involves making traditional Italian bread pandor, is a program that runs for a total of 6 sessions. It is expected to be a special time for children to develop creative thinking and connect reading with food culture as they read picture books and get inspired to make their own Pandor.

‘Ecological Play with Picture Books’ consists of physical play and craft activities using natural objects under the theme of winter ecology.

This course is divided into 1st and 2nd grade classes and 3rd and 4th grade classes. It provides an opportunity for children to feel the change of seasons and experience the importance of nature.

Also, ‘Idioms conveyed through picture books’, where you can learn four-character idioms through picture books, and ‘BookTalk’, where you can learn reading discussion techniques! Book Talk! ‘Reading Discussion’ is also a notable program.

All Naju City Library members can participate for free. Applications for classes will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis through the Naju City Lifelong Learning Information Room website until the 10th. The maximum number of students per course is approximately 15.

A Naju City official said, “This winter vacation program was designed so that children can spend meaningful time through various experiences related to books.”
