NASA astronaut was hospitalized after returning from the ISS

After almost eight months aboard the International Space Station (ISS), a group of astronauts returned to Earth, with one of them being hospitalized.

The Crew-8 mission, made up of four astronauts, landed on the coast of Florida, in the early hours of Friday, after 232 days, or almost eight months, aboard the ISS.

Upon returning to Earth, SpaceX Dragon performed a normal reentry and landing, with the recovery of the crew and spacecraft occurring without incident, according to NASA, in a publication.

Despite apparent compliance, an "additional assessment of crew members was requested out of caution" during routine medical analyses, the space agency added.

To that end, NASA astronauts Matthew Dominick, Michael Barratt and Jeanette Epps and Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Grebenkin were flown to Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola.

Three of them were discharged shortly afterwards, but one of the NASA astronauts remained in the hospital "under observation as a precautionary measure" with an unspecified health problem.

Regarding this hospital stay, according to The Guardian, NASA said it would not reveal specific medical information, in order to protect the crew member's privacy, but would provide updates as they became available.
