Netanyahu promises victory in the war against Hamas that began a year ago

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu returned this Sunday to promise victory in the war he started almost a year ago, following the October 7 attack by Palestinian Hamas militias on Israeli territory.

The statement was made during a visit he made to troops stationed on the country’s northern border, very close to Lebanese territory.

“The whole world is amazed at the blows they are dealing to our enemies. I congratulate you. Together we will fight and together we will win, with the help of God”, proclaimed Netanyahu, according to an official statement from the prime minister’s office cited by the agency Europress news.

Netanyahu met with the head of the Northern Command, General Uri Gordin, and the commander of the 36th Division, Brigadier General Moran Omer, to “analyze the projection of forces into Lebanese territory” and the “operational successes achieved.”

Netanyahu spoke to officers from the 36th Division and private soldiers. “I’m here with the military on the northern border. A few meters away are friends, on the other side of the border, who are dismantling the terrorist infrastructure that Hezbollah had prepared to attack our cities,” he said.

“I tell you: you are the heroes of glory. You, together with your friends, the soldiers and security forces in Gaza, in Yosh, in the entire region. You create wonders. You are lions,” he said.

“In the last twelve months we have changed reality from one end to the other”, said Netanyahu, stating that Israel “suffered a terrible blow”: “You are the generation of victory”, he concluded.

According to the Ministry of Health controlled by Hamas, Israeli retaliation for the October 7 attacks has already left more than 41,000 dead.
