Netanyahu will undergo surgery on Sunday

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, 75 years old, is to undergo prostate surgery on Sunday, his office announced on Saturday, in the middle of the war between his country and the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas in the Gaza Strip, reports AFP.

Netanyahu underwent a medical checkup at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem on Wednesday, “where he was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection due to benign prostatic hypertrophy,” his teams said in a statement.

“Therefore, the prime minister will undergo a prostatectomy tomorrow (Sunday),” they added.

The Israeli leader had already undergone hernia surgery in March and underwent another surgery in July 2023 to implant a pacemaker.
