The streaming platform Netflix aired the long-awaited match of the year on Friday, November 15. Legendary retired boxer Mike Tyson and his much younger challenger Jake Paul faced each other in the ring. Both boxers managed all eight rounds, but the fans did not get a more impressive show. In addition, the live broadcast was accompanied by problems.
Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson: How did the fight go?
Youtuber Jake Paul defeated the boxing icon, filling the vaccination of experts. Both fighters went all eight rounds, with Tyson unable to make a significant impact. Given his age, this is not surprising, although he trained hard before the fight and many fans may have expected a much tougher fight.
Paul controlled the whole fight and was able to win without knocking out the boxing legend. Tyson was not capable of his former powerful punches and did not excel in dynamic movement either. Paul again held his own and began to dominate towards the end of the match. However, you could see that he was giving Tyson his space and boxing him with respect. The fans thus did not experience any sensation, but rather a calmly flowing match, which at times had higher dynamics.
Netflix couldn’t do it
80,000 fans watched the match directly at the Texas football stadium. A much higher viewership was expected via the Netflix platform, which broadcast the entire match live. However, the platform was plagued by technical problems. Live streaming often didn’t work or had lag, which reduced the streaming experience.
The image kept loading and various error messages were also displayed. Netflix could not handle the onslaught of sports fans and they made it clear to him. Dissatisfied statements of subscribers who had a problem with online broadcasting are already circulating on the Internet. Sports fans were doubly disappointed – from a lukewarm match and also from technical problems.
Mike Tyson doesn’t stop
Although Tyson did not display his former boxing prowess in the ring, he boxed with honor. He lasted all eight rounds and did not give up, even though at times it seemed that his strength was waning. Nevertheless, unexpected words were heard after the match. “I don’t think this was the last game of my career. I don’t know, it will depend on the situation,” Tyson said.
Paul, on the other hand, after the announcement of the verdict, which credited him with the victory, said: “Everybody clap for Mike! You are a legend, the best batsman ever. You inspired me, if it wasn’t for you, I’ll never wrestle.”
Tyson was basically successful only in the first two rounds, after which Paul’s superiority showed. However, the successful YouTuber and now boxer is preparing for further fights. As Paul indicated, he is up for challenges against today’s boxing stars.
