New agreement with Turkey’s giants

Organized by SAHA Istanbul, the largest industrial cluster of Turkey and Europe, under the auspices of the Presidency, with the support of 6 ministries and the Presidency of Defense Industries, and in the global communication partnership of Anadolu Agency, SAHA EXPO International Defense, Aviation was held at the Istanbul Expo Center (IFM). Various products are promoted at the Aerospace Industry Fair.

In this context, agreements were signed between TÜBİTAK President Orhan Aydın and the managers of various institutions under the auspices of the Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır.

“Aircraft Nose Radome Test Service Agreement” was signed between TÜBİTAK BİLGEM and THY Teknik with the participation of TÜBİTAK President Aydın and THY Teknik R&D and Innovation President Uğur Şahin.

Following the repair and maintenance works carried out by THY Teknik within the scope of the cooperation covering the repair, maintenance and testing services of the radome structure, which protects the weather radars located in the nose of the aircraft from external factors, the electromagnetic tests and certification of the radomes will be carried out by TÜBİTAK BİLGEM.

Thanks to this cooperation, the Antenna Test and Research Center (ATAM) within TÜBİTAK BİLGEM will support THY Teknik’s national and international aircraft maintenance capabilities by offering its measurement capabilities to the civil aviation sector.

– KAAN’S CAPABILITIES WILL BE IMPROVED

TÜBİTAK President Aydın and Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TUSAŞ) General Manager Mehmet Demiroğlu also signed contracts for two important subsystems within the scope of the National Combat Aircraft Development (KAAN) Project.

TÜBİTAK MAM and TAI have also transitioned to the 2nd phase of the Life Support System and Explosion Prevention System development projects, which are two critical systems for Turkey’s 5th Generation National Combat Aircraft KAAN. These contracts will cover all processes from critical design and product production to the completion of flight tests.

With the agreement, foreign dependency on critical technologies and systems for KAAN will be prevented and an important ecosystem will be created within the country within the scope of relevant work subjects.

TÜBİTAK BİLGEM and TUSAŞ will continue to work together in the second phase of KAAN.

With the KAAN Project Integrated Processor Unit (BÜİT) Term-1 Phase-2 Contract signed between TÜBİTAK BİLGEM and TAI, detailed design and qualification studies of the Aircraft Management Platform and Mission Management Platform for KAAN’s final mission performance will be carried out.

Technologies developed by TÜBİTAK BİLGEM will continue to be at the heart of the Aircraft Management and Mission Management systems of KAAN Block-10 aircraft, which will enter the inventory in 2028. With this contract covering a period of 4 years, KAAN’s flight control and aircraft management computer, main management computer, mission management computers, flight control-aircraft management-mission management avionics interface units, deterministic and high-speed network switching units and synchronization management Detailed design and qualification studies of the unit will be completed.

The contract will enable Turkey to become one of the few countries in the world that can develop 5th generation fighter jets.

– CRITICAL COOPERATION FOR THE MOON MISSION

With the “Wide Angle Camera Agreement” between TÜBİTAK UZAY and Poloptech, TÜBİTAK UZAY has undertaken a critical project that will enable Turkey to get one step closer to its space goals within the scope of the Moon Mission.

The wide-angle camera system to be developed with this cooperation stands out as a critical technology to be used in Turkey’s space missions. TÜBİTAK UZAY aims to develop a system that will provide more detailed and high-resolution imaging of the Moon’s surface with this technology.

TÜBİTAK UZAY, as an institution leading Turkey’s space exploration, will make a significant contribution to the technical infrastructure of the Moon Mission with this project. The wide-angle camera system, which will be developed for detailed examination of the lunar surface, is of great importance for both scientific research and future space exploration.

– Breakthrough in satellite and space technologies

TÜBİTAK UZAY and TÜRKSAT AŞ signed a “Cooperation Protocol in the Field of Satellite and Space Technologies” in order to accelerate Turkey’s development in satellite and space technologies and increase its competitiveness in the international arena.

This cooperation represents a critical step taken to strengthen Turkey’s competencies in satellite and space technologies and to pioneer new projects.

– BATTERY TEST PROCESSES WILL BE STRENGTHENED

An important protocol was signed between TÜBİTAK Rail Transportation Technologies Institute (RUTE) and Test and Evaluation Inc. (TRTEST) in the field of promotion, marketing and sales of test capabilities at the cell, module and battery pack level. This collaboration is aimed to increase the operability of test systems by providing more effective solutions to the needs in the sector.

Within the scope of the protocol, TÜBİTAK RUTE will ensure that the tests determined together with TRTEST are carried out in accordance with the relevant standards. TRTEST will undertake the promotion, marketing and sales of these tests. Both parties will submit price offers in line with test requests, and the test results will be delivered to customers in the form of a report.

This collaboration aims to pave the way for innovative solutions in the sector by contributing to the strengthening of energy storage and battery testing processes in Turkey.

-TUBITAK SAGE AND ROKETSAN ALSO SIGNED A COOPERATION AGREEMENT

TÜBİTAK SAGE and ROKETSAN signed an important cooperation protocol for new product development and improvement of existing products.

The “R&D Cooperation Protocol” covers cooperation in a wide range of areas, such as nationalization studies, logistics support, consultancy services and export version studies. In addition, production line qualification, production talent acquisition and similar studies are among the areas of cooperation.

TÜBİTAK SAGE and ROKETSAN aim to further advance Turkey’s defense capabilities with this cooperation. The protocol also includes strategic projects that will contribute to reducing foreign dependency in the Turkish defense industry.

6th-12th phases of the MİLGEM Project between TÜBİTAK BİLGEM and HAVELSAN. A new contract was also signed for the supply of Message Operating System (MIS) for its ships.

Previously, MİLGEM’s 6th-8th. This agreement covering ships, 9-12. It was expanded to include ships. The MİLGEM Project was implemented as a part of Turkey’s goal of producing national warships and stands out as a strategic step to increase the country’s naval power.
