New brand identity for Mazda. The Japanese manufacturer will have a new logo

Mazda is set to unveil a new logo, part of a rebranding change. The new logo will have a simpler look.

It shouldn’t surprise us, every company has modified their logo in one form or another. Some chose to reinterpret a retro logo, others just retouched it, while some manufacturers went through a complete change of logo and identity, Dacia being a conclusive example.

right Engine1the Japanese automaker has registered a new simplified logo with the Japan Trademark Patent Office.

The current logo of the Japanese brand was introduced in 1997 and is a stylized version of the letter M, drawn in the form of wings. In these 27 years of existence, the current Mazda logo has not undergone much change, but the brand logo will change soon.

Mazda is changing its emblem in 2024

Many of the manufacturers have updated the look of their logo in recent years. BMW flattened and simplified its logo, as did Audi or Volkswagen, while Renault, Peugeot or Citroen chose to use reinterpretations of past logos.

Like many other brands, Mazda’s new registered logo features a flattened shape, ditching the 3D look so prevalent in the past among automakers.

It is also possible that this new two-dimensional, modern-looking logo marks the manufacturer’s transition to a new era, that of electrification. Until now, Mazda has not rushed to the accelerated development of electric cars, but has relied on new efficiency methods for its thermal engines, but this could change in the future.

For now, Mazda will sell the EZ-6 sedan in China, resulting from a collaboration with the Chinese from Deepal. Essentially, the Mazda EZ-6 is a facelifted Deepal SL03 that will be sold exclusively in China.
