New, compact laser projectors from Epson to replace the television – a big picture from a small device

Epson has announced two compact laser projector TVs. The EF-21 and EF-22, which belong to Epson’s EpiqVision collection, offer up to 150-inch image size. The manufacturer says that the easy-to-use projectors are maintenance-free for up to ten years.

The published EF-21 and EF-22 projectors have a built-in Google TV operating system with Chromecast mirroring. The equipment also includes two five-watt speakers, which can also be used separately with a Bluetooth connection.

The Epson EF-22 features an adjustable fixed stand and is available in metallic black or blue. The EF-21 model does not have a tripod and comes in warm white and ice green color options.

Compact Full HD resolution laser projectors can project content in any direction: on the wall, ceiling or floor. The EF-22 model’s adjustable stand can be rotated, which increases flexibility even more. Automatic focusing, trapezoid correction, obstacle avoidance and size adjustment make commissioning easier.

The EF-21 and EF-22 offer a contrast ratio of up to 5,000,000:1 thanks to 3LCD technology. The projectors are declared to have a maximum brightness of one thousand lumens. The image size can therefore be up to 150 inches. Both models have one HDMI connection.

The products will go on sale in Finland in October, but the exact pricing has not yet been announced in the manufacturer’s press release.
