BMW is expanding the Dutch range of the 5-series Touring with a regular petrol version, a plug-in hybrid engine version and a new electric variant of the i5 Touring. For example, the 5-series Touring is now also available as a 520i. It has a mild-hybrid (48v) 2.0 four-cylinder that produces 208 hp and 310 Nm. What does this entry-level model cost? We already know: €69,823. This makes it the least expensive engine version of the 5-series Touring. Until now, this was the plug-in hybrid 530e (€72,444). Speaking of plug-in hybrid engine versions: the 5-series Touring will also get a plug-in hybrid drivetrain. This is even an engine version that is not yet available in the 5-series Sedan. We are talking about the 550e xDrive Touring. It has a 3.0 six-cylinder petrol engine and of course an electric motor. The system output is a hefty 489 hp and 700 Nm. In just 4.4 seconds, this plug-in version sprints from a standstill to a speed of 100 km/h. Its top speed: 250 km/h. More relevant is the electric range. Thanks to the 19.4 kWh battery, this is 90 kilometers. This new engine version costs €85,475. The news regarding the electric BMW i5 Touring is somewhat smaller in nature. Just like the BMW i5 Sedan, the i5 Touring will also soon be available as an xDrive40 Touring, an engine version with four-wheel drive and a system output of 394 hp. The Dutch price of the BMW i5 xDrive40 Touring is €83,284. This electric variant zooms from a standstill to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and has an electric range of 520 kilometers.
