“New headache”: another magnetic storm hit the Earth

Its intensity is expected to reach a medium level.

Russians were warned about another magnetic storm.

The increase in disturbances in the Earth’s geomagnetic field began immediately after midnight, said leading specialist at the Phobos weather center Mikhail Leus in his Telegram channel.

According to him, at about six in the morning a weak magnetic storm of class G1 was recorded on the planet. Speaking about the timing of the storm, the specialist predicted that it would be short-lived and its intensity would not exceed classes G1-G2, that is, weak and medium levels.

The meteorologist noted that there have been no strong X-class flares on the Sun in recent days. In this regard, Leus suggested that the storm could have been caused by the Earth falling into “a stream of denser and faster than usual solar wind.”

Recently, comet Zijinshan-ATLAS flew over St. Petersburg.

Earlier, the doctor explained how long-term and strong magnetic storms affect people’s condition.
