New mid-range on the way: Galaxy A56 should bring a fresh design and more charging power

Rumor mill

Samsung is expected to introduce the Galaxy S25 shortly. A little later, the mid-range could also receive an upgrade with the Galaxy A56. Samsung is probably planning a major design change here.

At the next Galaxy Unpacked on January 22nd, Samsung wants to present its new flagship series around the Galaxy S25. However, if a mid-range model is enough for you, you don’t have to wait long for new devices: the A-Class is scheduled to receive an upgrade with the A56 and A36 in the first quarter.

How Gizmochina reportsleaked images from the Chinese regulatory authority TENAA show major design changes for the Galaxy A56. It was high time for one, as the last models from the South Korean manufacturer have a similarity that cannot be denied.

Galaxy A56: New camera design revealed in advance

The design change specifically concerns the back of the device. Unlike the Galaxy A55where the camera lenses are arranged in a row, the lenses on the Galaxy A56 are said to be arranged in a central camera bar.

However, there is no major change to be seen on the front. As with its predecessor, the display should once again offer an impressive size of around 6.6 inches and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The modern frame design that was introduced with the A55 and features raised control buttons will also remain intact.

Fast charging gets an upgrade

An X post from the user @TheGalox_ according to the Galaxy A56 comes with the Exynos 1580 processor and a 5,000 mAh battery. This should now support fast charging of 45 instead of 25 watts. This should reduce the loading time by a good deal.

Like its predecessor, the mid-range phone will have a 50 MP main camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 5 MP depth sensor. On the front, Samsung is replacing the 32 MP sensor of the Galaxy A55 with a 12 MP sensor, according to current rumors.

The RAM should remain unchanged at 8 or 12 GB, the internal storage at 128 or 256 GB. Samsung probably shouldn’t change the prices either. The Galaxy A56 could launch on the market for less than 500 euros.
