We tried the Path of Exile 2 early access version. At the event in Los Angeles, USA, GGG, the developer of the game, first showed us the game, then explained it to us and finally made us play it. PoE 2, which I played for about 4-5 hours, was quite fun. Before getting on the plane and returning, we briefly told you about our experiences, and now we are sharing it with the publication date.
When does early access start?: December 6, 2024
Platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, Classic Mac OS
Genre: Isometric action FRP
Developer/Publisher: Grinding Gear Games
Seri: Path of Exile
Although PoE2, which was announced in 2019, is still not completed after a long development, it did not make you feel it while playing. It is a very big game with a skill tree that allows people to play the same game for a long time, which is flexible and allows for many different combinations, and options for customizing different classes. Although it is a Diablo-style hack, slash, progress and develop your character and collect items game, both the item development system and resources are quite different. In my opinion, it is clearly a spiritual sequel to Diablo 1 and Diablo 2. However, of course, it is also influenced by the Dark Souls bosses of recent years, called Soulslike, and carries traces of all other good action and RPG games. It blends these in its own unique way.
PoE’s first game has been receiving updates for 10 years. According to what the developer told us, they intend to update PoE 2 after it is released, as long as players love the first game and continue to play it. My impression is that GGG developed his game with great enthusiasm, loves old-style games, and PoE 2 will receive high marks from both reviewers and players. Because although the game is very comprehensive, it guides you immediately and easily in building a basic character at the beginning. However, he does not force anyone to follow this direction; an experienced player is free to proceed as he wishes. In this way, modern players will not be lost when entering the game, but those who are used to the “Old School” difficulty will encounter a game that is large, complex, and very open to discovery and fun, not a flat and bland game that moves on fixed rails.
This game, in which we keep beating creatures to drop items, will definitely attract the attention of players who have played the game for 3000+ hours, as it offers the opportunity to shoot lightning through a fire wall and open brand new games when you finish the game.
