New record in St. Petersburg: last night was the warmest in the last 16 years

Autumn weather never ceases to amaze St. Petersburg residents and weather forecasters.

The night of October 22 in the Northern capital became the warmest in the last 16 years and in the entire series of instrumental observations. This was announced by the head of the St. Petersburg Hydrometeorological Center Alexander Kolesov.

According to him, the minimum air temperature was 9.9 degrees, but a few hours later the figure increased to 12.7 degrees.

“Even these plus 9.9 degrees were able to block the previous temperature record of 9.3 degrees, which was recorded on the night of October 22 in 2008,” the meteorologist wrote in his Telegram channel.

In addition, he said that during the day in St. Petersburg it will warm up to 14 degrees, but it will be windy, and the rain will come only at night.

Earlier, Phobos specialist Mikhail Leus spoke about a cyclonic whirlwind approaching St. Petersburg.

Before this, it became known about impressive “summer” weather records in St. Petersburg in September.
