OnePlus 13R will soon kick off 2025 with the launch of its latest top smartphones: the OnePlus 13 and 13R. Images of the latter have now appeared. Tasty Arsène Lupine shares the official pictures of the 13R on X and they show the design and colors well. The device is available in two colors: black/silver and gray/white.
The OnePlus 13R has a large camera island on the back and a screen with very thin edges. The light version of the 13R is called ‘Astral Trail’. According to OnePlus, the other color is known as ‘Nebula Noir’. The OnePlus 12R, which has been available since the beginning of this year, was released in black and light blue.
The OnePlus 13 and 13R won’t be long in coming, as they will be unveiled on January 7. An event will take place that day at 4:30 PM Dutch time, where everything about the new phones will be told. We will then also be told when the 13 and 13R will appear in the Netherlands and what they cost.
What else we know about the 13R
Thanks to all the rumors and leaks, almost everything about the OnePlus 13R is known. The cheaper brother of the 13, for example, gets a large 6000 mAh battery. That should be more than enough to easily make it to the end of the day, even with intensive use.
Under the hood of the 13R is most likely a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. This chip has now been succeeded (and overtaken) by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, but it is still nice and fast. The smartphone’s screen is 6.78 inches and has a high refresh rate of 120Hz.
The OnePlus 13R has a total of four cameras. There are three on the back: a 50 megapixel main camera, an 8 megapixel wide-angle lens and a 50 megapixel telephoto lens. With the latter, the device can zoom in 2x optically, in other words: bring the image closer without losing quality.
In the Netherlands, the OnePlus 13R will be released together with the regular OnePlus 13. This is the absolute flagship of the manufacturer. It is more expensive, has higher quality construction materials and runs on a smoother chip. We see both devices January 7 appear and keep you informed of the launch.
