New rules for safety on construction sites

The Government of Serbia has adopted amendments to the Regulation on Occupational Safety and Health, which refer to temporary or mobile construction sites. These changes are aimed at improving the safety of employees and other persons present at construction sites, and investors are required to take specific steps before starting any work.

The key change mandates that the investor, or his representative, must notify the coordinator for the execution of the works at least seven days before the start of the work about the involvement of the employer or another person in the projectwrites Blic. This obligation lays the foundations for a more efficient organization of work on the construction site, in order to reduce the risks to the safety of employees.

The coordinator for safety and health at work has the ability to decide on technical, technological and organizational solutions that are needed for planning the execution of works. In this way, a better overview and coordination is possible when it comes to the execution of several works simultaneously or one after the other.
