Apple recently released the first beta of tvOS 18.2 for developers, anticipating the arrival of new screensavers for Apple TV. According to what was discovered by MacRumorsthe hidden code reveals four new screensaver categories: Snoopy, TV and Film, Musica e Soundscapes.
Here are the new screensaver options that tvOS 18.2 will bring to Apple TV:
- Snoopy: nth screensaver dedicated to the famous Peanuts character, probably with animated scenes and settings typical of Charles Schulz’s comics.
- TV and Film: A collection of visual scenarios inspired by popular TV series and films, which may include iconic sequences or locations.
- Musica: Designed to create a musical-style atmosphere, may include animations or images in sync with the music or graphics that recall the Apple Music universe.
- Soundscapes (Soundscapes): Designed to provide a relaxing experience with natural or abstract settings, accompanied by ambient sounds or soothing melodies.
These new categories of screensavers should become visible in a future beta version of tvOS 18.2, with the official release expected by December 2024. On the official Apple website it is specified that some options, such as the Snoopythey will only be available for devices Apple TV 4K 2nd generation or later.
In addition to these new categories, Apple TV currently offers screensavers Aerials e Memoriesalong with the option Portraits with time display introduced on tvOS 18.0.
