Europe’s largest travel channel now has its own streaming app for Smart TVs. On sonnenklar.TV+, viewers can access holiday tips, hotel videos and entertainment shows or plan their next break.
Sonnenklar.TV goes streaming. The travel shopping channel has launched its own streaming service, Sonnenklar.TV+. The service is available as an app for all common Smart TVs.
Sonnenklar.TV+ has over 3,500 video clips and tips on holiday destinations, hotels and excursions in its program. There are also topic channels that focus on individual travel destinations.
While the plus in the name of most streaming services indicates a paid offer, this is not the case with Sonnenklar.TV+. As Sonnenklar.TV managing director Kristijan Schellinger emphasizes, the plus in Sonnenklar.TV+ “stands for much more than just linear television, because our viewers can use the app, in addition to our regular 24-hour program, to become holiday experts themselves by checking everything in advance can see everything about their journey.”
With an internet-enabled television, users can download the Sonnenklar.TV+ app and gain access to the station’s live program as well as themed channels on popular travel destinations and types. In addition, the app displays all exclusive holiday offers, including information on availability and possible cancellations.
“The combination of streaming app and travel offers is unique in the television landscape and is intended to whet your appetite for your next vacation,” explains Fehras Fakhiri, Director of New Business, Distribution & Live Program at Sonnenklar.TV.
Of course, Sonnenklar.TV+, like the linear television version, is also about selling. Because users can browse for offers in the Smart TV app and select personal favorites. You can use the remote control to create your own watchlist of vacation options. Anyone who then decides on an offer can be redirected to the Sonnenklar.TV booking website using a QR code on their smartphone.
Sonnenklar.TV wants to gradually add more in-house productions to its app, according to the statement. These include titles such as “The Kunath & Co. Holiday Show”, “Fly & Help Show”, “Happy Holidays” and recordings of the annual “Golden Sun” awards ceremony. This should underline the infotainment character with a mix of holiday and entertainment offers.
