New Volkswagen T-Roc in full regalia

The Volkswagen T-Roc was presented in 2017 and is therefore relatively old. It narrowly avoids the list of oldest cars still available and is technically of an older generation than, for example, the Golf and the Tiguan. Volkswagen is therefore in no hurry to replace the model, which is not surprising given the continued European success of the T-Roc. Nor is it surprising that the brand new T-Roc closely resembles its predecessor. The current T-Roc is old, but popular. We could already draw that conclusion based on previously spotted test T-Rocs, but today it is confirmed. Instagram user ‘Rollendereporter’ managed to dig up photos of what appears to be the infotainment screen of a new T-Roc, showing its exterior. The accompanying text on the screen is in German, so we can carefully rule out a Chinese derivative. We see a smoother, more elongated T-Roc as we know it today, including the roof painted in a contrasting color and the striking window frame. To be clear: it is indeed completely new. This is better visible at the front and rear, thanks to continuous light bars, a more rounded and sleek rear bumper and a front bumper that is equipped with an extremely wide and high air intake. The new T-Roc in (lightly) camouflaged form. the taillights have been modified with stickers to resemble the old model. On a technical level, the biggest news with the T-Roc seems to be the appearance of plug-in hybrid powertrains. This is of course Volkswagen’s latest generation PHEV technology, including an electric range of more than 100 kilometers. Wolfsburg will undoubtedly unveil the new T-Roc sometime in the coming months, but as far as the appearance is concerned, hardly any surprises await us.
