Vente-unique.com records solid growth in 2023-2024 despite a shrinking market. Business volume and turnover increased by 15.6% and 10.1% respectively, thanks in particular to the rapidly growing marketplace, the driving force behind this performance.
Vente-unique.com once again manages to maintain solid growth in the 4th quarter of 2023-2024. The overall turnover increased by +10.0% to reach €60.7 million and the turnover stood at €46.1 million.up +6.4% compared to the 4th quarter of 2022-2023. Good figures in a still gloomy context for household consumption, particularly in France and despite a demanding base effect (growth in overall business volume close to +30% and turnover above +20% in the 4th quarter 2022-2023),
After growth of +18.2% over the previous financial year, the overall business volume saw further growth of +15.6% over the financial year and stood at €233.2 million. Turnover also experienced solid growth and reached €178.7 million (+10.1% compared to 2022-2023), in line with the annual target of double-digit growth.
A shrinking furniture market
A performance achieved in a furniture market in economic decline (-5.8% in France over the 2023-2024 financial year at the end of September). Vente-unique.com has thus managed to gain market share, thanks to the excellent positioning of the products offered, the dynamism of the market place as well as the recognized quality of its customer service.
Logistics turnover is naturally down due to the default of the former first external customer of this activity (€1.5 million in 2024 compared to €6.6 million in 2023). Retired from this client, the activity is growing strongly (€1.1 million in 2024 compared to €0.1 million in 2023). As announced, the Group managed to convince new partners for this strategic activity which makes it possible to offer a global and unique service to marketplace customers. As such, Vente-unique.com also announces having signed a contract with a new client for its logistics activities, which will occupy approximately 6,500 m², or 8% of the capacity of its Amblainville platform, from January 1, 2025.
Growing activity in all geographic segments
E-commerce revenue, which includes commissions generated by the marketplace, continues to show growth in all regions in the 4th quarter of 2023-2024, with notably continued solid momentum in Northern and Eastern Europe. (+13.2%) and a remarkable performance in Southern Europe (+27.9%). Finally, France (+0.4%) remains stable in a bearish environment for furniture spending.
The Group’s growth was once again driven by the marketplace, which continues to enjoy growing success in the 8 countries where it is deployed. In fact, its share in the overall business volume increased by almost 5 points over the rolling year. In particular, the progression remains regular in France (nearly 17% of E-commerce business volume in September 2024 compared to around 14% in September 2023) and was remarkable in the Netherlands and Portugal, only six months later. opening in these countries. The marketplace, at the basis of the Group’s virtuous model, thus confirms its role as a growth driver by making it possible to offer customers an expanded offering, adapted to all budgets.
A new exercise in profitable growth
Like every year since its creation and in accordance with the commitments made, Vente-unique.com achieved a new year of profitable growth. Despite a less favorable economic situation in the second half and investments made to retain and win over new customers, the Group expects to generate a still solid adjusted EBITDA margin for the financial year ending September 30, 2024around that of the previous year (10.7%). The Group also recorded controlled one-off costs during the year (€0.8 million) linked to the relaunch of Habitat.
Investments for the future
Vente-unique.com continued, during the financial year, its strategic investments in the service of customer satisfaction to continue to deliver growth and profitability in the future. On a commercial level, beyond the continued development of the marketplace, the financial year was marked by the takeover of the iconic Habitat brand. The relaunch of this flagship of European furniture, a precursor of accessible premium, began this fall with the revelation of the first elements of the new collection.
Logistically, Vente-unique.com announced that it was acquiring a second logistics platform of 62,000 m²in the form of a lease in future state of completion (BEFA). This large new logistics site will allow the Group to support the expected growth of its logistics flows and to double its current capacities by 2026 without increasing investments in buildings (excluding developments).
