Nexans invests massively in three sites

Supporting the growth of offshore wind power in Europe is the objective of Nexans, which announced, in mid-September, an investment program of 90 million euros.

Main beneficiary: its factory in Charleroi, Belgium, will receive 81 million euros to produce 525 kV land high voltage cables. A 53-meter extrusion tower used to insulate the latter will also be built.

Further north, in the Flemish region, the Erembodegem factory will benefit from 6 million euros to develop and produce electrical accessories which will ensure the connection between two connections.

Finally, in France, in Calais (Pas-de-Calais), the manufacturer will build a second laboratory intended for testing. This program will be used primarily to carry out the TenneT contract – the largest in the industrialist’s history – which aims to connect several wind farms in the North Sea to the continent.

Work will begin in 2025 and be completed at the end of 2026.
