In a first step, Nfon AG will become the full legal successor to Deutsche Telefon Standard, but the DTS brand will (provisionally) remain in place.
When Nfon took over DTS in 2019, it was already planned to merge the two companies bit by bit. And some points have already been realized since then: For three years, the partners have been able to offer a communications solution from Nfon with Centrexx 3. The SIP trunk Flexx, which originally came from DTS, can also be marketed through Nfon partners. And in March 2024, Nfon began converting DTS customers to the new Nfon platform. DTS products will also continue to be operated and marketed. The hardware range – both providers work with different manufacturers here – is to be merged.
“We are thereby strengthening our business in the German market and creating a uniform product range. This will enable us to leverage further synergies in the future and thereby create the conditions for even greater investment in our products, partners and, above all, in our shared customer base,” explains Merano Mettbach, CRO of Nfon, to Telecom Handel.
Now the cloud PBX provider is taking the next step and becoming the full legal successor to DTS. To this end, Nfon AG is taking over all contracts and agreements in full and is transmitting the invoices and commissions. Nothing will change for customers and partners as the merger will initially take place on a legal level, Nfon emphasizes. The DTS brand will also remain in place until further notice. “The long-term plan is to merge the Deutsche Telefon Standard brand with the Nfon brand. The values and attributes of both brands are to be integrated without losing them. Only the brand name ‘Deutsche Telefon Standard’ will no longer be present on the market,” Mettbach continues. The cloud PBX provider has not yet revealed when this will be completed.
