NH Nonghyup Bank (CEO Seok-Yong Lee) announced on the 26th that it will participate as a co-organizer in the “Agricultural and Food Tech Startup Expo (AFRO 2024)” to be held at COEX in Seoul for three days from the 25th to the 27th.
The “Agricultural and Food Tech Startup Expo (AFRO 2024),” now in its second year, is the largest agricultural and food startup expo in Korea, hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and co-hosted by Nonghyup, the Korea Agricultural Technology Promotion Agency, and COEX.
Nonghyup Bank will operate promotional booths for 11 companies that are fostering and investing in agricultural and food products funds at this expo. On the 26th, the current status and outlook of egg/food tech startups will be shared at the ‘Private Investment Conference Leading Innovation in the Agricultural and Food Products Industry’ co-hosted with Nonghyup University. In addition, a panel discussion of experts in the agricultural and food products sector will be held to come up with ways to create a sustainable agricultural and food products investment ecosystem.
Lee Seok-yong, President of Nonghyup Bank, said, “Through this expo, we will play a role in driving private investment in the stagnant agricultural and food sector,” and “We will lay the foundation for the growth of the startup ecosystem in the agricultural and food sector through various efforts such as linking businesses of affiliated companies of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation and providing financial support.”
Meanwhile, Nonghyup Bank, as the largest agricultural and food fund operator in Korea, operates a total of six funds, including the ‘Hope Agricultural Innovation Fund’ established in April of this year, with a total of KRW 274.1 billion, and provides financial support to 37 companies.
