Nintendo Unexpectedly Announces New Hardware And We Can’t Sleep Easy –

The manufacturer of the Nintendo Switch pulled a surprise again.

The PlayStation 5 Pro arriving in November will certainly find its audience, but let’s be honest, it’s far from the most exciting and most anticipated hardware on the console front. This title undoubtedly belongs to the Switch’s successor, the hybrid simply called Switch 2 by the press, which promises a significant improvement in performance, backwards compatibility, and the retention of portability based on the information leaked so far.

We know it’s coming, it’s been confirmed by Nintendo, so the only question is when the Japanese will line up for the formal unveiling. Well, not now, because although the console manufacturer has indeed announced a new hardware, it is guaranteed that it will not take the place of the Switch, but it will still most likely make the hearts of many fans flutter.

The company’s novelty is none other than the Nintendo Sounc Clock: Alarmo, that is, an interactive alarm clock made special by the fact that five exclusive games (Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 3, Pikmin 4, Ring Fit Adventure) wakes up its owner with sounds, but by reacting to the body movements of the person who is still half asleep. By the way, if we connect it to our Nintendo account, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons will also be part of the selection.

The device monitors our sleep, records how much time we spent in bed, how much we moved, and how long it took to wake up. Although its primary function is not to let us sleep, it also has a sleep-aiding function.

Nintendo is asking $99 (approx. HUF 36,000) for the Alarmo without taxes, it can already be ordered in the United States and Canada, but in principle this possibility will be extended to Europe during the week. It is important to know that Nintendo will initially serve only those who have a Nintendo Switch Online membership and user account, everyone else who wants to be woken up by Princess Zelda in the morning will have to wait until early 2025, at least mid-January.
