NLB Komercijalna banka won the prestigious Euromoney award

One of the world’s leading financial magazines, Euromoney, founded more than 50 years ago, declared NLB Komercijalna banka the best socially responsible bank in Serbia in 2024. The prestigious award was presented to the president of the Executive Board of NLB Komercijalna bank, to Vlastimir Vuković at a solemn ceremony in London.

Euromoney magazine has been recognizing and rewarding the best banks around the world since 1992. The fact that more than 700 banks from all over the world applied for this year’s awards also speaks of the importance of their Awards for Excellence, as the first of its kind in the global financial industry. The process of choosing the winner includes a detailed analysis of various aspects of the business – financial results, market position, social responsibility, degree of digitization and innovation, as well as the quality of customer relations.

“In addition to achieving exceptional business results, our key goal was and remains a contribution to the creation of a sustainable future in the community and region in which we operate. This award confirms our efforts and achievements in the field of social responsibility, as well as our determination to achieve our mission – to be a positive driver of change, promoting environmental sustainability, providing support to socially vulnerable groups and supporting educational and cultural projects,” said Vlastimir Vuković, president of Iof the executive board of NLB Komercijalna banka.

The strategic directions of NLB Komercijalna banka’s socially responsible business activities are aimed at supporting local ESG initiatives, developing a sustainable future and environmental protection, as well as improving the employee experience. As a result, in 2023, the bank became the first bank in Serbia with the “Family Friendly” certificate.

NLB Komercijalna banka is a signatory of the UN Principles for Responsible Banking and a member of the Banking Alliance for Net Zero Emissions under the auspices of the UN, which obliges it to reach net zero emissions by 2050.

As a systemic bank in the regional market, it directs most of its capacities towards systemic changes, through multi-year and well-known projects and initiatives, such as the NLB Organic competition, the Support Framework and Housing loans for young people.

Last year, NLB Komercijalna banka diverted a significant part of its profit towards creating sustainable of the future – organizations that improve living conditions for families, children and the elderly in Serbia.
