no fluorescent clothing for runners and walkers

Will walkers and runners soon have to wear fluorescent clothing during their hunting season outings?

A rumor that has grown

It’s a rumor that has made the rounds on social networks at the speed of an Olympic champion… The government has reportedly decided that from January 2025, runners and walkers will be obliged to wear a fluorescent vest during hunting periods. And this for their own safety.

The original article on the subject, published on the Utrail website even spoke ofa fine of 150 euros in the event of non-compliance with this new obligation. The rumor grew so much that the Ministry of Ecological Transition had to speak out on the subject on November 7: the ministry had to formally deny the information.

It must be said that, if the information did indeed appear on the site u-trail.com, specializing in trail running and outdoor races, the section was just as important. Actually, “this article was published in the Goratrail section”, a parody section, as its name suggests, on the issues of trail running.

As the ministry points out, the current regulations of the environmental code have required since 2020 the wearing of a fluorescent vest only for hunters participating in collective big game hunting actions. We must believe that this well-found joke to raise awareness of the issues of equitable sharing of nature between walkers, runners and hunters, was far too convincing. Or simply too realistic.
