No one will cheat for the initial 100,000 dinars

Out of 143 ads, only 13 applications: Nobody will cheat for the initial 100,000 dinars

Although the job of a welder brings an initial salary of around 100,000 dinars, a total of 143 advertisements for the position of a welder have been published on the job search site in the last year, but the total number of applications is 13.

As pointed out in most advertisements, employers offer an average salary of 93,000 dinars to variocs. There are also those companies that initially offered more than 100,000, and the more experienced ones receive up to 2,000 euros.

This is also confirmed by Miloš Turinski from Infostud, who states that the profession of welder has been in deficit for years, even though it is a well-paid occupation.

“Earnings depend from employer to employer. For example, someone will offer an experienced welder 1,000 euros, even 1,500 euros, but if the welder is hired for a project that usually lasts several months, which is a very common case, then the earnings are much higher. They even go up to 4,000 euros, everything depends on the project and its duration, but also on the company,” explains Turinski.

“The most important thing about this job is that every welder has to go through training to get a license. Unfortunately, these trainings cost around 3,000 euros. That’s why it’s more worthwhile for many to work abroad, where the wages are significantly higher, if they haven’t already finished welding school,” he says.

It is a pity that parents do not promote these crafts

Although the job of a locksmith/welder is well paid and has great potential for quick employment, his services are in demand everywhere, as can be seen from the number of advertisements on the Internet, but children are not that interested in this field.

This is confirmed for Nova.rs by the director of the “Zmaj” Technical School in New Belgrade, Željko Krunić. He says that out of 30 students, what is the enrollment quota for this course, only about twenty of them enroll as locksmiths, while at the end there are between ten and fifteen students left.

“I’m sorry that parents don’t promote these crafts, which, as we can see, are slowly dying. There are no children, which is a shame because this is a well-paid job. “Parents cannot understand that their children can graduate from high school in three years, get a job right away and have a salary of 150,000 dinars,” Krunić points out.

2,000 certificates with attestation per year

According to Jovan Ristić, a professor who teaches welding students, fewer and fewer students enroll in the welding course. However, it is increasingly common that some students who did not want to enroll as a welder, after a few years, go to training for this profession.employees

“Welder training lasts about two months and is very expensive. I don’t understand why children make the wrong decision. I wonder why their parents don’t direct them immediately after finishing their high school graduation, instead of studying for something else, they finish it and then realize that they were supposed to be welders after all, so they go to training. Only the course for an argon welder costs between 2,500 and 3,000 euros. Fortunately, it often happens that companies conduct free training,” explains Professor Ristić.

The Welding Institute from Belgrade issued around 2,000 certificates with attestations last year, and it constantly organizes training. As they pointed out in their announcement, it is not uncommon for citizens themselves to come to the training, because they know that it is a profession that is in short supply.

Among the candidates, there are also those who attend training in the company where they are employed, and then come to the institute just to take the exam. Often, experts from the institute also go to their companies and train an employee on their equipment.
