No Stops: Trump’s Vice Presidential Candidate JDVance Calls Harris Trash

During a speech in Atlanta on Monday, JDVance reprimanded Harris, referring to a comment by President Joe Biden in which he suggested Trump supporters were “trash.” Mr. Biden, in turn, was responding to a speech by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe at a recent Trump rally at Madison Square Garden, in which Mr. Hinchcliffe compared Puerto Rico to a “floating island of garbage.”

Trump’s campaign spent several days listening to criticism from Harris’ allies about Hinchcliffe’s speech. But she later focused on Biden’s allusion to Trump supporters.

JDVance told an Atlanta audience Monday that Americans shouldn’t be called “trash” for supporting border restrictions or “wanting to be able to afford groceries.”

“In two days we’re taking out the trash in Washington, and the name of the trash is Kamala Harris,” he said.

The comment drew the ire of Harris’ allies online. Richmond, Virginia Mayor Levar Stoney said JDVance “made one of the biggest mistakes of his political career.”
