“No suspicious cells” in the analysis of his cervical lesion, according to his doctor

The Prime Minister had surgery at the end of October. It “continues its activities normally” according to a press release published by Matignon this Tuesday, November 19.

Analysis of the cervical lesion on which Michel Barnier was operated on at the end of October “did not find any suspicious cells”, announced his doctor in a press release published by Matignon this Tuesday, November 19. “The Prime Minister continues his activities normally”added Dr Olivier Hersan. Michel Barnier had “been operated on for a cervical lesion, the results of the analysis of which will be known within a few weeks”, Matignon indicated on October 28 in a press release signed by the latter.

The information had not been communicated in advance. The Prime Minister’s services did not wish to provide further details, either on the pathology from which the head of government suffers, or on the nature of the surgical operation. “It’s good to be transparent on this kind of subject. It’s his wish, those around him said, while the information distilled remains fragmentary. The President of the Republic, the presidents of the chambers, the ministers and the presidents of groups (including the opposition) had been informed of this operation. Michel Barnier had “resumed his work normally (the Monday following the operation) and resumed his public activities with the Council of Ministers”, the following Thursday.
