Nongshim announced that it is introducing a real-time food information verification service (hereinafter referred to as Food QR) system implemented by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety so that food safety information can be easily checked on mobile phones.
‘Food QR’ is a system that allows consumers to check online the information they need to choose the food that is right for them. When you scan the QR printed on the product with a mobile phone, you are connected to a web page containing information on raw material names, allergens, nutrition labeling, consumer safety precautions, handling methods, and customer consultation information.
Nongshim is introducing Food QR to a total of 17 products (12 container noodles and 5 snacks). This is the largest number of products among the 15 food companies (101 products) participating in this Food QR. Nongshim plans to sequentially launch Food QR-applied products starting this month and complete application to 17 products by January next year.
Meanwhile, Nongshim applied voice guidance QR codes to 10 products, including Shin Ramyun Big Bowl, in August last year to improve convenience for the visually impaired. Nongshim reflected the voice guidance function in all 17 products applying this food QR through technical support from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety.
