The North Korean authorities recently ordered the replacement of executives at rear-end material production organizations related to the Central Party, but existing executives protested and a physical fight broke out among executives. Accordingly, judicial authorities are investigating the incident and proceeding with punishment of those involved.

A Daily NK internal source said, “The executive project (reorganization of personnel) has been carried out since the 18th at the Pyongyang Ranch, a rear facility under the Central Party Finance and Accounts Department that supplies meat and eggs to Central Party executives,” adding, “Including the security captain. “When mid-level executives such as finance, accounting, livestock, and agricultural managers were singled out for complete replacement, opposition and conflict arose,” he said.

When the authorities announced this personnel reorganization, they stated that the purpose was to reorganize the organization more efficiently and replace older executives. However, some new executives were older than the existing executives, so there were complaints that they were ‘parachute’ appointments.

Finally, on the 21st, during the handover process, the executive who was to be replaced began yelling and pointing at the new executive, and other existing executives joined in, leading to a group fight.

The ranch was in chaos due to the physical fight between executives, and it was reported that the administrative system was paralyzed that day.

The source said, “Once appointed, the position of executive at the Pyongyang ranch that produces meat for Central Party executives is such a privileged position that one does not want to resign,” adding, “When the executive business order was suddenly given, conflict broke out during the replacement of executives.” “He explained.

It is said that the Central Party was quite shocked when an unprecedented incident broke out in which a group fought against the authorities’ order to change personnel.

It is reported that the Central Party immediately ordered the Central Prosecutors’ Office to intervene and resolve the case. Rather than end with an internal investigation and warning, the law requires judicial authorities to officially investigate and legally punish those involved.

Accordingly, the Central Prosecutors’ Office detained all existing executives who were subject to replacement on the 22nd. However, no punishment has been imposed on the new executives who fought together.

Because of this, some are saying, ‘Aren’t the newly appointed executives real parachutes who took over major positions with the power of the Central Party on their backs?’

Meanwhile, it is expected that existing detained executives will be deported to local areas. The source said, “Because it was reported to the party, it has become an incident that cannot be ended with a simple warning,” adding, “The executives who rebelled against the project will be deployed to the farm feed base under the Central Party’s Finance and Accounting Department in Dongrim-gun, North Pyongan Province.” said.

At the same time, he said, “The existing executives who were complaining of unfairness are holding their breath over the decision that they must be kicked out to the provinces.”
