According to TrendForce’s report, we can expect moderate growth of 3.9 percent this year.
TrendForce has published its annual report on the notebook market. The numbers are positive, but Canaan is still far from here. The most important figure is sales, which can show a 3.9% increase over the same period of the previous year with its predicted value of 174 million for the whole year. All this is due on the one hand to high interest rates and general geopolitical uncertainty – as both areas are expected to improve next year (and support for Windows 10 will also be discontinued), TrendForce has raised its forecast for the year 2025 and predicts an expansion of 4.9% in the number of portable computers sold.
The market research company considered it important to point out that notebooks are still primarily seen as business and work tools, and the increase will be primarily driven by the replacement of older machines that are becoming obsolete. The importance of AI pushed by Microsoft and notebook/CPU manufacturers is marginal, but it can be expected that these functions will become more and more default as new notebooks spread.
