Design has always been the focus of Nothing products and the Ear (open) features the now signature translucent look associated with the brand. The new buds feature speakers that rest outside your ear and a three-point balance system with silicone ear hooks. Nothing has developed a new sound sealing system with directional speakers to keep sound leakage and ensure privacy.

Each bud weighs 8.1 grams and both the buds and case are IP54 certified for dust and splash resistance.

The buds also support Network Discovery, low-latency mode for gaming, and built-in ChatGPT connectivity that requires a Nothing phone to work.

The Ear (open) is rated at 8 hours of playback from the buds and their 64mAh batteries, while the 635mAh cell inside the case extends the total playback time to 30 hours. Charging is limited to USB-C, with no option for wireless charging.
